Washington Family Ranch is a camp in Central Oregon. Creekside is a waterpark that serves middle school kids who just finished 6th-8th grade. On the other side is Canyon for 9th-12th graders with zip lines, go-karts, swimming, and more! For the areas we serve, these are the camps they attend, mostly due to proximity.
We've been busy training leaders, applying for scholarship funds, getting forms from leaders & kids, transportation figured out and so much more! There is a lot of time that goes into getting a group of leaders and kids to camp. It's been a challenge, especially from so far away, but here are some stories.
Anaconda, Montana

Leaders Jake and Amy with 11 kids drove the 11+ hour drive to Creekside for a five-day camp. This was the very first time ever Anaconda took kids to camp! A few days after returning from camp, they had their first ever WyldLife Club.
A little rain brought them indoors, but 16 kids showed up for WyldLife Club. Please pray for their next club on August 5th as Anaconda has rented out a local pool! So for now I am working towards training the 8 leaders, 7 committee members, and planning the areas first fundraiser at the Washoe Theatre for October 22nd! If you are in the Anaconda neighborhood - join us!
Deer Park, Washington
Deer Park also took it's first-ever camp to Creekside! 10 kids were led by Dom and Janna. I am pretty sure the leaders had just as much fun as the kids did. LOTS of jumps off the ledge, water slides, and games! Shawn and I got to be Adult Guest Hosts for the week and after the 'sin talk' I noticed the above chalk drawing done by the kids. Looks like Deer Park kids were processing through some art!

What an amazing week for these campers, check out this thank you card a student wrote to her scholarship donors.
"I loved camp and the people there too, it was hands down the best week of my life and I am so grateful. Everything about this week was incredible from the bus ride over here to the time we went to bed on the last night was perfect!"
Next up I'll be training leaders, planning clubs, working with the committee, and planning Deer Parks first fundraiser in the fall!
Chelan Valley, Washington
Chelan Valley is a unique area. It's a resort town, yes. However, this area is full of kids from all sorts of cultures and backgrounds who live and work there all year. Chelan is an area Michelle oversees and when they began last fall, the team thought maybe they would take a car full of kids to camp. This soon turned into a van, which turned into a bus of 36 kids and leaders! Chelan Valley is on the edge of something big and I love that I get to be a part of it! Congrats to Clarissa Steiner, Administrator for Chelan Valley for managing this trip's send-off so well. Here is something she told me, "This girl wanted to hang out during her free time. She then said to me, she wanted to accept Christ, can you help me?" Yeah, that's pretty much the dream of every Young Life Leader! Thankfully, there are leaders who are committed to loving these kids not just at camp, but at home too.
Shawn and Michelle had the pleasure of working the grill for the 'Chelan Lake Day' on July 12th!! Several areas were in attendance with games, water fun, and an amazing club talk by the water. What a joy it is to serve this area... and not a bad view doing it!
The areas banquet is on September 10th at Rio Vista Wines in Chelan, you should join me!
Upper Kittitas County - CleElum
We are currently in the midst of camp season, and there's still much to do! On July 20th, an exciting milestone awaits as CleElum prepares to send off its inaugural camp to Creekside. Following that, on July 30th, another group will embark on their first-ever trip to Canyon with High Schoolers! Katie has been diligently overseeing the training, while Michelle has been handling the paperwork.
In light of these momentous events, we kindly ask for your prayers for this area. May the campers and leaders be blessed with safety throughout their travels. Our heartfelt prayer is that the teens attending the camp have their hearts open to the message of the gospel, and may they be inspired to wholeheartedly follow the path of Jesus.

Plus some exciting news for CleElum. Claire Faucher (far right) will be coming on staff in August as the Area Director for Upper Kittitas County (Cle Elum/Roslyn) with 10 years of experience from YL staff in Oregon and California.
As area developers, we build, we train, we help raise funds and when the time is right, we get to hire a staff person to take over. What a joy! Congrats to Claire and the whole team in Upper Kittitas County.
Speaking of CleElum.....
