Celebrating God’s Faithfulness!

Fifty years ago, a woman named Karyl Oules believed that the students of Chelan Valley needed a place where they could belong, be loved, and hear about Jesus. That vision came to life through Young Life. On October 19th, we had the joy of celebrating 50 years of Young Life in the Chelan Valley!

Pictured below is our amazing Work Crew who helped with set up, greeting, and clean up, but most of all, they built up enough nerve to go up front and share what being part of Young Life has meant to them.

I am deeply grateful for the incredible team that made this night possible. From our Chelan Valley committee to our radio personality turned Tonight Show host Jeff Conwell, our one man roots band Glenn Snyder, our dedicated Table Hosts, the amazing Tsillan Cellars staff, and so many others who gave their time and heart, thank you for making this celebration unforgettable. (plus to those who put up with my detective work, digging through the past)

As we celebrated our past, we also looked ahead. Our heart remains the same: to introduce kids to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. The need in our community is still great, and your support keeps this mission going.

Update on what is happening.....

Young Life at Chelan High School

We are back on campus every Thursday with Otterpops, and twice a month we meet in the art room for YL CLUB and it is going great. At our most recent club on October 30th, we had 32 students join us, which is no small feat for Chelan High School! I had the joy of sharing a message about what God says about fear, and it was such a privilege to speak hope and truth to these students. All glory to God!

Please continue to pray for Manson High School and Middle School. It's been tough to connect with students there, but we now have some PRAYER WARRIORS who are walking around the school and praying regularly!

Growing Student Crew

We are also in the beginning stages of developing a student leadership, or 'CREW' as we call it, in Chelan Valley. These amazing high school students (who some served at the banquet) will meet once a month for dinner, leadership training, and planning events that reach their peers. They’ll even earn volunteer hours for school, but more importantly, they’re learning how to serve with purpose.

One of our students shared at campaigners, “Being a part of this has really changed my life.” That moment sums up why we do what we do. These are the kids who are shaping the next generation of faith in our valley, and surprisingly, only half of them have even been to camp yet! A good reminder that the gospel isn't just shared at camp.

On A Personal Note.....

This season is special not only for Chelan Valley but also for my friends back in Snoqualmie, where another Young Life banquet is happening this Sunday that we would not dream of missing. A part of me has never left that community, and seeing the ministry there continue reminds me how God builds lasting legacies through faithful people.

We’ve been in Chelan Valley for just over a year and a half now, and we continue to be deeply grateful for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. We could not do this without you.

Here’s to another fifty years of laughter, love, and the life-changing message of Jesus in the Chelan Valley and beyond.
